On October 18, Vision Group’s 30th-anniversary celebration was held grandly in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. During the presentation session, Neil He, General Manager of Vision Group's UPS Division, launched the new REVO3.0 AI computing data center backup power solution.

He explained, “With the rapid development of technology, AI is gradually permeating all aspects of daily life, ushering us into the era of artificial intelligence. In this AI age, computing power is paramount, with its infrastructure forming the backbone of what we call 'computing data centers.' Simply put, computing data centers support the robust processing capabilities needed for applications like ChatGPT and autonomous driving, in contrast to traditional centers which focus more on data storage and transmission for online shopping, payments, and video streaming."

To meet these demands, power density in traditional data center cabinets has risen from the previous 4kW and 8kW levels to 100kW and even 130kW, a 25-fold increase. Taking the mainstream 1.2MW UPS as an example, the REVO3.0 requires only two cabinets for backup power instead of the typical 4-6 lithium battery cabinets, saving a significant amount of space. It reduces the footprint by 70% compared to traditional lead-acid batteries and 40-50% compared to other lithium batteries on the market. 

Prefabricated Cabinets and Modular Design

For today’s data centers, fast delivery is critical, and REVO3.0’s prefabricated cabinets reduce local installation time and costs by 80%, shortening the battery installation cycle from one month to just five days.

10 Layers of Protection

Safety remains Vision’s top priority. Our battery cells feature triple protection, and each module is equipped with a redundant safety design inspired by data center redundancy, such as the 2N configuration for dual power supplies and dual UPS systems. REVO3.0 applies a “10N” approach, incorporating ten layers of redundant safety features, from battery cell fuses, explosion-proof valves, and flame-retardant electrolytes to module insulation, leak protection, circuit breakers, and rack-level fire suppression, ensuring tenfold peace of mind for users.

Liquid Cooling Technolog

Additionally, REVO3.0 is the only product in the industry to incorporate active balancing technology and liquid cooling in a UPS backup power solution. The active balancing technology maintains each cell in optimal condition over more than 10 years of data center operation, while the liquid cooling enables stable, fast charging and discharging under 10C high current without temperature impact. Moreover, the cooling liquid serves as an additional fire safety measure.
